We had a bit of a scare with Jade. In late October 2009, as we were giving Jade her customary morning rub down, we came across an unusual lump on her left arm. Of course, this sent us into a bit of a panic. Jade ended up having surgery to have the lump removed, and pathology results subsequently revealed that it was a basal cell tumor that was fortunately benign. Nevertheless, we had a bit of an adventure and a few weeks of sleepless nights, as Jade had to go through recovery from the surgery, await test results, wear the E-Collar (or as we like to call it, Cone of Shame), and suffer through a bit of a depression. Now that Jade has come through the whole ordeal and is happy and healthy, she has given us permission to release these photos. :-)
