Pros: Spicy, seemingly authentic Korean cuisine

Cons: Wait staff understands very little English

I've always been puzzled that many Korean restaurants call themselves "Tofu Houses" since they offer much more than just tofu. So Kong Dong Soon Tofu is no exception. Situated in the middle of an Asian strip mall on Buford Highway, this restaurant offers tasty Korean BBQ. If the lack of English understood is any indication, this place seems to offer fairly authentic Korean cuisine.

If you like spice, this is definitely a restaurant to try out. Our favorites are the Korean BBQ beef and the bi bim bop (vegetables and meat mixed over rice in a hot stone plate/bowl). Unfortunately, the wait staff's lack of English comprehension may have hindered us in getting what we truly wanted-- our bi bim bop did not seem to have any meat in it. Regardless, the other pork and beef dishes we ordered did well to compensate the initial lack of meat. And the spicy BBQ sauce that goes with it...you'll love it if you love spice.

Next time, we'd like to go with some friends who have better control of the Korean language, and perhaps we can get better service.
