Cons: old decor, slight smell suggests inadequate ventilation
Los Bravos seems to be a fairly old Mexican restaurant, which has its plusses and minuses. First, the age is evident in the decor. Upon walking into the restaurant, we also noticed that odors from the kitchen seemed to be leaking into the main dining area. This suggests that the ventilation within the restaurant may be inadequate.
Once you get past the aesthetic and design issues, you will get to some excellent fajitas. The restaurant makes an effort to advertise its other special platters, but we have not yet gotten a chance to try them out. The combination fajita platter (mix of chicken, steak, and shrimp) offers enough sides to satisfy even the most voracious eater. The chips and salsa are hit and miss. The chips were a little oily for our taste, but the salsa was quite good, and the servers made sure that more and more salsa kept coming.
This is a restaurant that deserves a second visit so that we can at least try out the combination platters that the restaurant prides itself on so much.
